The hidden cost of manual lead gen

The line item is salary. The real bill is ramp, tools, manager time, and the pipeline you did not build in Q2.

Finance sees a salary. Sales sees a territory. Nobody owns the fully loaded cost of a manual outbound motion, which is why it survives so many board decks. Here is the bill, written down.

Ramp is a quarter you will not get back

Even a strong hire needs 60–90 days to learn the product, the ICP, the tools, and the unwritten rules of your CRM. During that window they are a cost centre with a bright attitude. Agencies hide the same delay under ‘onboarding’. Either way, the quarter’s number does not care.

The tool stack is a second payroll

  • Data: ZoomInfo, Apollo, or a worse substitute.
  • Sequencing: Outreach, Salesloft, or a founder in Gmail.
  • Deliverability: a domain farm you will mismanage.
  • Intelligence: a sixth tab the SDR will not open.
  • Manager: the person who has to watch all of the above.

Add it up and a ‘cheap’ SDR is a $12k/month system that still only works when that one person is in the chair. Attrition resets the clock. The good ones leave for AE seats. The rest leave for a company that already automated this.

Opportunity cost is the line you cannot invoice

Every week without a full top-of-funnel is pipeline you will not close in 90 days. Manual motions are lumpy: a burst after a kickoff, a trough after a resignation, a heroic month that nobody can reproduce. Agents are boring in the useful way. The range is hunted every night, including the night your team is at an offsite.

The hidden cost is not the SDR. It is the deals that never entered the funnel because Tuesday was a enablement day.

A cleaner number

Setup fee plus a retainer. First qualified leads in 24–48 hours. A dashboard instead of a 1:1. That is the whole commercial argument. If your current fully loaded cost is lower and your pipeline is full, do not call us. If it is not, the hidden costs have already introduced themselves.

Next step

The range is already being hunted. Yours could be too.

Twenty minutes. We map your ICP, show a sample list, and tell you if we can fill the diary. No deck. No theatre.
